Frequently Asked Questions
-
Valet trash service is a resident amenity where scheduled trash is collected directly from each apartment doorstep and transported to the community's dumpster or compactor. Residents simply place their designated container outside during the scheduled collection window, and our trained couriers handle the rest. The result is a cleaner community, greater resident convenience, and increased property value.

Trash Fairies is active in seven states across the southeast-U.S. In the Northern Virginia region, our trash pickup service runs on a set schedule you approve. Residents simply place their trash outside their door by 8:00pm, and they wake up the next morning to clean hallways and breezeways.

Valet trash pricing is based on the number of occupied units, pickup frequency, and your property's layout. Many apartment communities include the cost as a monthly amenity or trash fee, making the service cost-neutral—or even revenue-positive. Contact us for a customized quote tailored to your property.

The short answer: Yes. Valet trash pickup is a daily, visible perk residents notice and appreciate, which is exactly the kind of amenity that nudges renewal decisions. Cleaner common areas also mean fewer complaints, better online reviews, and stronger tour impressions for prospects. Happy residents who tour a spotless property tend to sign and stay.
-
Residents may place one securely tied 13-gallon kitchen-size bag of normal household trash in their designated valet trash container during the scheduled collection window. Recycling should be placed in the appropriate recycling bags (clear or blue) if recycling service is available on site
For safety reasons, we do not collect hazardous materials, liquids, hot ashes, construction debris, furniture, appliances, electronics, tires, automotive fluids, medical waste, or any oversized items that cannot fit inside the designated container.
We provide clear resident guidelines at move-in to ensure everyone understands the collection procedures and prohibited items, helping keep the community clean and the service running smoothly.
-
Whether you're starting valet trash for the first time or switching from another provider, Trash Fairies handles the entire transition at no additional cost.
